Kipp and Tina's 2012 New Year Cleanse

Hi Essential Living Foodies!

My fiancé Tina and I thought we would share with you our 2012 kick-off juice feast starting Wednesday, January 4th 2012.

It's basically a 7-10 day green juice Feast with some protein supplementation.

All you need is a juicer and a lot of organic produce and some protein powder like Essential Living Foods' Vegan Protein Blend.

So here is our plan:

•  Wake up!

•  Drink 32 oz of warm water with (1) whole lemon juiced into it.

•  Take 4oz of Coconut Water Kefir (make your own using a starter kit or purchase it pre-made).  Add 1 tsp Camu Camu powder, Mangosteen Powder, Açaí Powder or Maqui Berry Powder.  These can be added to juices at any time during the cleanse.

•  Morning Green Power Drink: 16oz fresh-pressed green juice with 1 tablespoon of either Chlorella Powder, Spirulina Powder or Barley Grass Juice Powder.  Mix in optional protein powder.

• Make 1 gallon of fresh green juice to drink throughout the rest of the day.

Our standard Juice Blend:

•  Cucumber
•  Celery
•  Parsley
•  Lemon
•  Ginger
•  Small amount of green apple or carrot (this is to keep the sugar very low - don't add these ingredients every time)

We stay away from the spinach, kale, cabbage, since it seems like there is evidence that they can disrupt thyroid function if eaten raw.

Also, we'll drink the green drink at room temperature. Cold drinks can be hard on the body in the winter.

We use the Hurom Slow Juicer.  It is slower than centrifugal juicers but it produces a truly low-temperature juice with high-yield.

If you end up doing something like this please share your experiences and progress.

Happy Healthy 2012 to all of you!

-Kipp

Hello Kipp!
We luv our spinich and greens, I didn’t know they interfere with Thyroid. I have been using a whey protein powder and a greens packet along with Almon milk and berries for my a.m. breakfast. But luv Spinich salads with protein for lunch. What type of greens should I have instead?
What do you suggest for weight loss? I need to lose about 10lbs. (according to my doctor). But working on this for 2-3 yrs and can not budge the weight…ha ..my age and everything else may have something to do with it. I am 53.. but feel really good but I do work out and do yoga.
Thank you !!!

Wow, Inever knew that about kale. I use kale and collards from my garden
daily. So far, never had a problem. I’ve never had a real wt problem.
Could you let me know where you got this information? I’m not into using
a lot of powders, etc. l’d rather have fresh food. Thanks for your support.

In Gratitude, Troo

Oh my goodness Kipp!!!! This is amazing!! This is soooooo serendipity today! My sweetheart (Tim) and I just so happened to start our veggie juicing today because it has been getting warmer outside and it feels so good to incorporate raw veggie juice into one’s diet and here I am reading about your juicing after I located you. It is so wild that today I just happened to click on the Big Tree Farms video and there you were!!!! It has been sooooo long!!! I don’t know how often you read these comments, but it would be great to catch up. I see you’re engaged! Wow! Good for both of you!!!!

I’m delighted to see you doing very meaningful and purposeful work!

A long lost friend,

Ingrid
